This horse hood is made from Spandura™, an amazing high-tech fabric that combines the toughness of Cordura with the stretch of Lycra. Each yarn consists of Cordura fibers spun around a Lycra core. Because of this tricky blend, the resulting fabric feels soft, supple, and stretchy, not stiff or boardy like other Cordura hoods. More tear resistant than just heavier weight spandex, i.e. "NFL weight " because this fabric has Spandura in it.  The spinning and weaving process makes Spandura an expensive raw material for us to use, but it provides a level of abrasion and tear resistance never before seen in a stretch fabric. Unlike regular Cordura/Lycra, Spandura just doesn't stretch a little -- it stretches a LOT. And because the Spandura we use is completely uncoated, it is rated extremely high in vapor permeability yet the tight weave of its air-bulked yarns renders it highly wind resistant. Spandura has a wider comfort range than any other fabric we've seen. All this adds up to a horse hood that not only provides maximum comfort and maximum performance but also maximum durability--compared to any stretch hood on the market today.

Build your own horse sleazy hood by starting with the basic pull-on horse sleazy that has an adjustable nose band, extra deep shoulder coverage and your choice of an ABS side release buckle or Velcro closure on the girth strap.  Then customize it with any or all of the following options: a full throat zipper for $9.95 or a full opening chest to muzzle for only $15.95; and/or upgrade the girth elastic to premium heavy duty elastic for $5 and/or add a center yoke between the front legs for $7.95.  Pay for only what you want!  We make it for you!!  Colors: Navy, Black, Hunter Green, Royal Blue, Deep Purple and Red.
