Tired of those blanket rub marks on your horse's shoulders, mane and withers?  Our horse shoulder guard protects the shoulder and wither area against blanket chafing and helps prevent hair loss. The deluxe horse shoulder guard is made from the finest four-way stretch 80% nylon/20% lycra available.  Form fitting and comfortable while allowing for total freedom of movement. Will stop rubs before they even start or prevent them from getting worse. You will never blanket your horse again without one.

Every horse shoulder guard comes with your choice of an ABS side release buckle or Velcro closure on the girth strap. Either way, both closures come with an extra wide and extra comfortable girth strap. You can upgrade the girth elastic to premium heavy duty elastic for just $5. Also, you can add a center yoke between the front legs for an additional $7.95. Available in a huge selection of super stretch solids and fun prints. Fabric Color Gallery.   The DELUXE BLANKET GARD is available in HUNTER SAFETY ORANGE which can be used as a safety vest during hunting season.  If you want a heavy weight fabric or are using the shoulder guard for medical purposes, i.e. to hold bandages in place, we recommend using the TUFF STUFF fabric.

Shoulder Guard to the rescue:
We received a call from a distressed owner whose foal had a large chest wound. She explained to us that she needed something to hold the bandages in place but she needed it a little higher than a normal shoulder guard and she needed it right away. We were surprised when she sent us some pictures because we were not expecting to see anything this large.
OOOWWWWW!!	Bandages?!?!	How did it stay on?
After talking to the customer we made the "bandage cover" a little higher up the neck with a velcro adjustment and recommended a center yoke to help hold it in place since the patient is an active youngster. A week later we received this email... "He is feeling so much better, he decided to roll this evening, then jump up and kick out. The Sleezy stayed right in place along with the bandage.
