All the other companies (includes Sleazy Sleepwear, Schneiders, Jammies, etc) are using a cheaper Chinese stretch fleece. What is the difference between Polartec fleece and this cheaper fleece? These other stretch fleeces cheapen their product by making a thinner product that has less oz per yard which equals less warmth; they will sag and stretch out after a few wearings; it will pill--pulls into itself and forms small little balls; cheap fleece will mat (it is the ability of the fibers to stand upright that gives fleece it's thermal properties. Matting is very common to imported fleece); and the colors are fuzzy instead of vivid and clear. The quality of this fabric is so noticeable that you will see and feel the difference the moment you open your package.

Polartec Power Stretch fabric feature body-hugging 4-way stretch and are very breathable. They keep your horse dry when he sweats and provide warmth without weight. These are the most versatile outdoor fabrics available today. This fabric features a proprietary construction with two unique surfaces: the durable nylon outer layer is wind and abrasion resistant; the soft inner layer pulls moisture away from the skin keeping your horse dry, warm and comfortable.

How does this work? Moisture and high humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec fleece will keep the skin dry because the fabric is very breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor. When the fabric's inner surface touches the horse's body it will draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric, where it spreads rapidly for evaporation. When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spread out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least twice as fast as cotton.

Polartec Power Stretch fleece provides warmth without the weight and bulk of traditional insulating fabrics. It is also wind resistant to reduce the effect of wind chill. When used under looser fitting winder hoods, it prevents rubbing or use alone on cool spring and fall days. Keep your horse warm and comfortable while protecting and polishing the hair coat.
