Reflector Leg Bands, Halter/Bridle reflectors and Neck Reflectors and are made from the highest quality reflective material on the market, 3M Scotchlite. 3M is the only company that uses a unique physics technique called retro-reflection light. Retro-reflection light is returned parallel to the direction from which it came. Other reflective materials scatter the light and only return a small portion of the light in the direction it came from (i.e., headlights of a car). Retro-reflection results in a much brighter reflection than any other reflective products. A good analogy between the two would be if you shined a spotlight on a sheet of metal at night versus shining the spotlight in a mirror. The mirror (retro-reflection) is going to return all but a negligible amount of light, while the sheet metal (reflection) will scatter the light rays and return very little back toward you.
