The throatlatch opening is reinforced and adjustable by using a wide Velcro strap that can't be rubbed open or slide down on the neck. Accordion pleats in the neck allow for lengthening when your horse puts his head down to eat. Generously sized so it will not ride up over the withers yet form fitting and comfortable for total freedom of movement. The turtleneck shoulder guard is made from only premium 4-way stretch fabric.

Either way, both closures come with an extra wide and extra comfortable girth strap. You can upgrade the girth elastic to a premium heavy duty elastic for just $5 more. Belle's Story:
Belle was a Saddlebred mare who injured her neck vertebrae. She had gotten so sore she couldn't put her head down to nibble on the grass. The vet suggested heat therapy. Working with Belle's owner, Kelly, we created a "therapy jacket". Using our extended neck shoulder guard, we added three large pockets on each side of the neck. The pockets allowed Kelly to insert her heat packets and hold them place. Kelly told us the therapy jacket had helped Belle immensely and she was able to put her head down again.

Loran A., from Texas had a problem with her Paint mare's upper shoulders getting severely burnt in the hot Texas sun. Loran opted for the turtle neck shoulder guard. "I've been meaning to send you this email for more than a week.
